The Sterile Tube Welder STW6810-RFID is intended to perform sterile welding of compatible thermoplastic (PVC) tubing used in blood collection,
component processing, and storage systems. The device creates a sterile, closed connection between two tubing segments, enabling the safe transfer
or pooling of blood and blood components without compromising sterility. The STW6810-RFID represents a new generation of sterile connection
technology.
Its competitive advantages lie in technological innovation, reliability, full automation, and an automatic adaptive fixture system, providing an advanced
level of intelligence along with convenient and efficient operation.
Unlike traditional sterile welding devices, the bms sterile tubing welder employs a unique wire cassette as its consumable. A tensioned metal wire cuts
the tubing by being electrically heated between front and rear electrode columns to approximately 200°C, ensuring a precise and clean cut.
This method differs fundamentally from traditional blade or high-temperature cutting techniques. It minimizes mechanical stress and prevents
micro-fractures in the tubing, preserving its physical integrity. As the heated wire contacts the tubing only momentarily, thermal exposure is minimized,
ensuring stable weld quality and maintaining sterility.
After cutting, an integrated alloy heating element rapidly heats up to around 450°C and automatically positions itself at the center of the tubing ends.
Using a non-contact radiant heating method, the element uniformly melts the tubing surfaces without direct contact.
This design eliminates the risk of particulate or micro-contamination associated with contact heating and ensures sterility throughout the process.
All structural components are made from high-temperature-resistant and durable materials, ensuring long-term reliability and operational stability.
The STW6810-RFID delivers an ultra-low failure rate of less than 0.004%, with performance proven over 100,000 consecutive welds, ensuring
consistent weld strength and quality over extended use. The device features a 10-inch full-color touchscreen, providing intuitive control and real-time
visualization of the welding process for an enhanced user experience.
In addition to welding PVC-to-PVC tubing, the STW6810-RFID can also perform EVA-to-EVA and C-Flex-to-C-Flex tubing connections by adjusting
parameter settings and replacing the fixture. Meanwhile, bms is currently developing a multi-tubing sterile tube welder, which will further expand
compatibility and application flexibility.
The STW6810-RFID has achieved CE MDR certification, U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance, and China Medical Device Registration approval,
ensuring full compliance with international standards. bms sterile tube welders are now exported to 42 countries and regions, with strong market
presence in Thailand and Turkey, and are rapidly gaining global adoption.
Since the device was launched in 2019, a total of 1,134 units and 68,668 cassettes have been sold in 42 countries.
